Additional Areas of Responsibility:
  • Provides a technical and business management interface between the academic and commercial communities.
  • Serves as MSU Campus Coordinator for the Mississippi Space Commerce Initiative (MSCI).



Current Areas of Interest/Research Focuses:

  • Facilitates the commercialization of applications developed by MSU faculty under RSTC auspices.
  • Assists in the development of remote sensing products and services for commercial use.
  • Enlists new candidates for application of remote sensing to business opportunities.


Work Experience:

  • Air Force Officer, managed aircraft equipment test, development and evaluation programs. Initiated USAF remote sensing projects.
  • New product development team member, 3M Company.
  • Product development field research and management, sales, regulatory and legislative affairs management, and environmental issue manager for Monsanto Company.
  • President, Foundation Consulting Services.
  • Program Manager, Agricultural Development, for Space Imaging, Inc.

Focus in all positions was development and support of business opportunities through application of advanced technologies.


Degrees, Certifications, and Specializations:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Education, major in Biological Sciences; teaching credentials, Central Washington University.
  • Master of Science in Microbiology, Central Washington University.
  • Ph.D in Botany and Plant Pathology, Colorado State University.
  • Numerous postgraduate courses in business management, personnel management, finance, product development, legislative affairs, and regulatory affairs.
  • Adjunct Professor, University of Denver.
  • Adjunct Professor, Utah State University.
  • Licensed Pest Control Advisor, State of California.


Highlights, Honors, & Organizational Affiliations:

  • Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Long-Range Planning Committee member for the Western Crop Protection Association. Served on numerous committees for tactical and strategic operations within the crop protection industry.
  • Advisory Board of Directors for the California Agricultural Aviation Association.
  • Founding member , Board of Directors, and Strategic Planning Committee for the Pacific Remote Sensing Alliance.
  • Management Committee for the American Crop Protection Association Agricultural Research Institute Alliance on Information Technology.
  • Planning Committee for the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan International Technical Conferences.
  • Industry Advisory Board, University of Denver Department of Engineering.
