Southeast Regional State, Local and Tribal Workshop




The Southeast Regional SLT Workshop was held February 5-7, 2001, at the Radisson Hotel Downtown in Memphis, Tennessee.Representatives from state, local and tribal governments from the states of Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland,Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia participated in the Conference.

Participants used two different venues to present state, local and tribal GIS and remote sensing needs to NASA representaties: in-depth breakout sessions were organized first by major topical area, and later, by organizational type.


Major topical breakout sessions included:
  • Resource Management,
  • Environmental Assessment,
  • Community Planning, and
  • Emergency Management.


  • Organizational breakout sessions were structured so that participants were grouped by:
  • Local Organizations,
  • Tribal Organizations,
  • State Organizations, and
  • Regional Organizations.
